Attempts to Paint Lawson as ‘Extreme,’ When Lawson is Echoing the Concerns and Sentiments of Majority of Voters
In a Press Release this afternoon the B.J. Lawson campaign stated that David Price is making a huge ad buy in order to put attack ads on the air.
RALEIGH, N.C., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — William (B.J.) Lawson, MD, Republican challenger to Rep. David Price inNorth Carolina’s Fourth District, is the object of new attack ads running on local TV stations. Price has made a significant TV expenditure for this election, something he has not done in over a decade. Price receives more than 50 percent of his contributions from special interests, while Lawson’s campaign has been funded by individual donors.
According to the release, some of the ads will seek to portray Lawson’s supporters and their ideology as extreme, some even focusing on Dr. Lawson’s desire to fundamentally reform the poorly functioning education system in the United States.
“David Price’s rhetoric clearly shows he is uncomfortable with regular people getting involved in politics. The Constitution isn’t a complicated document and it clearly says what the federal government should not be doing, but that would upset his big contributors. All we are doing is asking basic questions about the role of the federal government.
