In an escalation of the current air campaign in Yemen, AP is reporting that the U.S. launched an airstrike on a police station on Thursday. The Yemeni police station was thought to have been overrun by Islamic militants.
Yemeni officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that the U.S. aircraft killed at least six fighters Thursday.
While Congress pushed hard to force the administration’s hand on the Libyan conflict, no such pressure has been brought to bear for the actions being taken in Yemen. Not so surprisingly, American main stream media has remained relatively quiet on the attack.
U.S. Officials have not yet commented.
