Sarah Palin is making the headlines once again. The former governor of Alaska and Tea Party favorite is on the current cover of Newsweek magazine. It should come as no surprise that her critics have come out to criticize her once again. This time, it is about the way she looks.
Jonathan Capehart posted on The Washington Post’s PostPartisan blog criticizing her choice of clothing and the fact that she is on the cover of Newsweek, writing:
Folks want to be able to envision someone sitting in the Oval Office. They don’t necessarily want to envision them in the pages of Esquire magazine’s “Sexiest Woman Alive 2011” or Maxim. She can’t possibly be taken seriously as a presidential contender dressed like that, especially since this is the second time she has graced Newsweek in a less-than-presidential pose.
I suppose if you add a little something to her outfit, it would make it much more fitting. Let’s use President Barack Obama as an example.
Here is President Obama on the cover of the December 10, 2009 issue of Golf Digest. If Sarah Palin took her cue from President Obama, all she would have to do is put a golf club in her hand and she would most certainly look Presidential if we are going to debate what it takes to look presidential.
Once again, to quote Jonathan Capehart from today:
Folks want to be able to envision someone sitting in the Oval Office. They don’t necessarily want to envision them in the pages of Esquire magazine’s “Sexiest Woman Alive 2011” or Maxim. She can’t possibly be taken seriously as a presidential contender dressed like that, especially since this is the second time she has graced Newsweek in a less-than-presidential pose.
That is quite interesting indeed! If you notice the bold text of the quote from Mr. Capehart, it would be interesting to see what he would have to say about President Obama on the cover of this magazine:
