Rick Perry Stands up to Ron Paul During Commercial Break in Debate

I want a President who will stand up to anyone getting in the way of a more effective conservative government in 2013, and that includes Libertarians like Ron Paul. While some folks are saying there was no confrontation between Perry and Paul during a commercial break in the GOP Presidential debate on Wednesday evening, a picture is worth a thousand words: (Picture courtesy of Reuters.)

While the exact exchange of words during this “discussion”  isn’t currently available,  I think most people can come up with a pretty good idea of what was being said.  During the debate Paul and Perry went at it pretty heavily when  Ron Paul was asked about his support for doing away with the minimum wage laws. After a brief answer, Paul decided to chide his Governor Perry for writing a fancy letter in support of Hillary-care over a decade ago, as some kind of rebuttal to Perry’s criticizing Romney-care earlier.

Ron Paul was just being himself in calling out the apparent hypocrisy of Perry bashing Romney-care while voicing apparent support for Hillary-care many years ago. An important fact that needs to be injected here is that at the time Hillary-care was being discussed, the average American had no idea just how dangerous government-run health-care truly could be to America. Today, we all know just what a monstrous disaster Obama-care will be to our economy and how it will destroy what is widely known as ‘the greatest health-care system in the world’.

We can, therefore theorize, that Governor Perry was telling Ron Paul that the circumstances of the time of discussing Hillary-care were very different than today’s climate of staring in the face of Obama’s Socialist government-run Health-care system. That would make Ron Paul’s unnecessary drudging up of Perry’s once-stated support for Hillary-care a very petty thing to do in a Presidential debate of today.

That is just my take on what was possibly said, and why I too believe this was a small-minded attack using non-pertinent information of a long time ago. To say that it was Ron Paul just making his usual stand against federal governmental intervention of any kind is also very small-minded. It looks like Governor Perry reminded Ron Paul just what he thought of his rhetoric to say the least.

The other fact that we can gleam from the above picture, is that Governor Perry is a no-nonsense candidate who isn’t afraid to get in anyone’s face who tries to make him look less conservative than he truly is today. That, my friends, is a much-needed quality we need in a President in 2013. We need someone who is willing to fight off all the big government nanny state moderates and lunatic liberals posing as Democrats in the 2012 Presidential elections.

The message is out: Don’t mess with Governor Perry.
