Southwest Flight Lands After Cockpit Break-In Attempt

A Southwest Flight crew asked for emergency clearance to land at approximately 3:30pm on Tuesday afternoon, after a man tried to break into the cockpit during flight.

The incident is still under investigation, according to TSA spokeswoman Sarah Horowitz. According to Amarillo Aviation Director Patrick Rhodes, Amarillo police arrested the man, and turned him over to Federal officials for further questioning.

This incident is one of several that have occurred in recent days, including the overnight break-in at the Bexar County Courthouse in San Antonio, where three men have been arrested, and two others are being questioned, after a search of their RV resulted in  photographs of water systems and other infrastructures being found.
