I thought I might be the only one to have noticed this; alas, in today’s interconnected world someone else had not only noticed it but posted it with a helpful little circle and sound effect.
Now I truly enjoyed watching Jordan’s basketball career (except when he was demolishing the Lakers) and what he’s done afterward has been fairly remarkable as well, but perhaps someone could have approached him to discuss the diabolical historical reference his shaving habits would call up.
I’ll confess here and now to having shaved my facial hair into that pattern just so that I could look into the mirror and see how truly stupid it looked and then finish the job of cleaning my upper lip. Leaving my shower looking like that, and even more amazingly, appearing in a National Television Commercial for Hane’s Underwear looking like that would NEVER occur to me.
I’m amazed that no one at Hane’s had the presence of mind to say something. It’s not easy to correct someone who is more powerful & influential than you, but someone should have stepped up because it’s just stupid and tasteless.
