Stand Your Ground and Protect your Castle

There is a firestorm brewing over the Zimmerman/Trayvon affair. The validity of self-defense laws may be challenged. “Stand your ground” laws and “castle doctrine” laws are found in over 30 states. These laws give the right for a home or property owner to defend him or herself against an attacker without hesitation or second guessing. At first glance, these laws sound good. But the existence of these laws prove just how insane society has become. These laws are a reaction to the kind of society liberalism has produced. At one time, no such law was needed to give a property owner the right for self-defense. If someone came on your property and threatened the wellbeing of you or your family and then proceeded to carry out the threat, you just took your gun and blew them away. It was an act of self-defense and no one thought twice about it, but criminals thought twice before coming on your property with mischief in mind.
But then whiney, bleeding heart liberals began to come into power, rushing to the defense of the criminals, assuring them that their right to harm law abiding citizens was greater than the right of law abiding citizens to defend themselves. The potential for insane court cases appeared, with the promise of how criminals shot or harmed in their trespassing, could now sue the mean and vicious property owner for daring to threaten their wellbeing. We began to hear of criminals suing property owners, after being shot and wounded for their illegal entry. And stupid judges ordered the real victims to pay sums of money for medical bills to the criminals and even award compensation, since the burglar would be unable to make a living (by burglary) and therefore have no income from lack of work (by burglarizing).
Let me go on record as saying that I am against castle laws and believe they all should be repealed. But I am not against them for the same reason as liberals and idiots (forgive the redundancy). I say there is no need for them because common sense is the foundation of self-defense and protection. Property that belongs to another is not yours and if you choose to try and take it, be ready to pay the consequences. Every property owner has the intrinsic right to use their fire power, baseball bat, skillet or whatever deadly weapon may be handy to slow down, hurt, stop, maim or kill any thug who breaks into their privately owned or rented residence with the intent of stealing or destroying property or hurting the residents of said dwelling. Now how is that wrong or immoral, someone please tell me?
