Chris Kyle: The Legend Falls

U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, the man known as the “deadliest sniper in American history” was killed at a shooting at at a gun range in Glen Rose, Texas on Saturday, February 2. It is reported that Kyle was shot at point-blank range, and another man, Chad Littlefield, were killed by Eddie Ray Rought, a Marine who is reportedly recovering from post traumatic stress syndrome.

Chris Kyle, served four tours in Iraq. From 1999 to 2009, he scored the ‘most career sniper kills in United States military history’.  He shot his way past the previous American record for sniper kills, which was 109. Officially, the Pentagon has confirmed more than 150 kills, but his book, American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History, which was published in 2012, and became a New York Times best seller, reports his actual number of kills to be 160 enemy combatants.

Known as “the devil” by the enemy, and feared so much by Iraqi insurgents he had a bounty placed on his head, he was know as “the legend” by his Navy Seal brothers.  A true hero, Kyle was awarded two Silver Stars, five Bronze Stars with Valor, two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and one Navy and Marine Corps Commendation.

America lost a man of courage and a brave patriot who spent his life protecting this country and helping his fellow veterans in their struggles with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The hearts and prayer of the Anomalous Media family go out to Kyle’s wife Taya and their children.
