USDA: Ignore Expiration Dates and ‘Just Eat It’

The USDA is telling Americans to eat food that has expired dates. While expiration dates are set by food producers to let consumers and retailers know how long those items will be guaranteed fresh, they are not an indication of food safety. Ah heck, Weird Al told us the same thing decades ago.
