Time for Tin Foil: Govt. Flying Domestic Surveillance Missions Confirmed

Alternative news media have been discussing the multitude of antenna/camera-brandishing Cessna’s circling U.S. cities for months – now, the government admits they’re watching us.

The FBI is operating a small air force with scores of low-flying planes across the country carrying video and, at times, cellphone surveillance technology — all hidden behind fictitious companies that are fronts for the government, The Associated Press has learned.

The planes’ surveillance equipment is generally used without a judge’s approval, and the FBI said the flights are used for specific, ongoing investigations. In a recent 30-day period, the agency flew above more than 30 cities in 11 states across the country, an AP review found.

If the government wanted to just sit in a van outside your house and monitor signals (cell, wi-fi, etc) coming from your residence, they’d need a warrant – right? Apparently, doing it from 5,000ft in the air negates citizens’ right to privacy.

The airplanes are registered to a variety of non-descript, acronym-filled names like FVX Research, KQM Aviation, NBR Aviation and PXW Services. Many of the owning companies have Virginia-based post office boxes as mailing addresses.

Those reporting on the circling aircraft had been put into the tinfoil-hat-wearing, nutjob clan. But it would appear that they’re actually just paying attention.
