Police have killed two heavily armed people after several people were shot at a San Bernardino, CA social services center.
Authorities are saying that as many as 14 people were killed by the shooters and an additional 17 were injured.
The initial shooting occurred at around 11am local time at the Inland Regional Center during a meeting in the Environmental Health Services offices.
Suspects entered the meeting and started shooting, seemingly at random, then reloaded and continued to fire. The suspects then fled the scene in a Black SUV shortly before police arrived.
The following video was shot by Dorothy Vong and reportedly shows the police storming the building, shortly after the suspects had left:
The suspects were then encountered by police at a second location just a short distance away. Two suspects were shot and killed by police in a gun battle.
An additional suspect was detained, but has been cleared.
Syed Farook is the name of the man that burst into the room at the Inland Regional Center and started shooting. His new bride, Tashfeen Malik, has been named as the second shooter.
Syed worked for the Environmental Health Services department he shot-up for five years. Co-workers describe him as reserved and polite. Farook had recently returned from the middle-east after a one-month trip during which he began growing his beard and married 27 year-old Malik.
FBI Assistant director David Bowdich told press that he was not yet ready to call this a terrorist act, but that they are “definitely making some adjustments to our investigation.”
Police recovered four firearms from the SUV:
