The Huffington Post has never been accused of being a balanced news organization – or even just a news organization for that matter – but now the editorial staff has decided that ever story containing a reference to Donald Trump must call him a liar, racist and more.
The first appearance of the note appeared at the bottom of an article about Trump’s ongoing feud with Fox News.
Note to our readers: Donald Trump is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, birther and bully who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the U.S.
POLITICO received confirmation from a Huffington Post spokesperson that this will be ongoing policy for Trump stories:
“Yes, we’re planning to add this note to all future stories about Trump,” the spokesperson said. “No other candidate has called for banning 1.6 billion people from the country! If any other candidate makes such a proposal, we’ll append a note under pieces about them.”
Since the Huffington Post has also made it policy to place all Trump stories only in the Entertainment section, it’s not likely that very many will see the note anyway.
