McDonald’s Facing Social Media Scrutiny for missing cheese

McDonald’s has been pushing Mozzarella Sticks as a feature of the new McPick 2 menu, but many who’ve tried them are asking “where’s the cheese?”

McDonald’s website describes the cheese sticks as “Made with 100% real and melty mozzarella cheese breaded with a golden crust based in wheat flour that includes onion, garlic and a pinch of salt. Sticks served hot with a side of zesty tomato-based marinara sauce with Italian herbs and spices. Let the dipping and stretching begin!”

Not everyone seems as energized:

The fast food giant’s images of the cheese stick look at bit more… cheezy.

McDonald’s official response was that the cheese leaked out .. or something:

“We are aware of a low volume of guest concerns about our Mozzarella Cheese Sticks. In these instances, we believe the cheese melted out during the baking process in our kitchens and shouldn’t have been served. We apologize to any customers who may have been affected. We are working to fix this in our restaurants.”
