Rick Santorum had cancelled events in South Carolina on Wednesday due to “logistical issues” which is politician speak for “I quit.”
Santorum had low expectations of doing well in New Hampshire and was re-focusing his campaign on the third-in-the-nation vote in South Carolina.
The first event was supposed to kick-off his bus tour of the state with stops in York, Gaffney, Spartanburg, Due West, and Aiken. Campaign staff said those events would be re-scheduled, but they never were.
Instead, Santorum held a media event in Washington, D.C. to announce his quitting the race and endorsing the fast-rising Marco Rubio.
