The Cruz-Kasich thing… isn’t actually a thing

Starting Monday morning, all hell broke loose in the GOP nomination coverage – Ted Cruz and John Kasich were colluding to derail Trump – like that’s news.

The news has been full of stories of Cruz letting Kasich have Oregon and New Mexico while Kasich supposedly was allowing Cruz to take Indiana – realistically, they are both dealing with failing campaigns and are trying to focus limited resources on where they can win. Donald just sees it as an opportunity to play the “poor me” card.

Kasich has cancelled many events in Indiana, more-likely due to budget and resource issues. He is still set to attend an important fund-raiser in Indianapolis at the Columbia Club. That’s a far reach from giving up on the state.

Cruz actually told his advisers not to endorse or promote supporters’ switching allegiance to Kasich simply to keep delegates from Trump.

Kasich hasn’t been an actual candidate for months. Cruz is a viable second or third ballot candidate but has no chance to clinch the nomination. With that in-mind, this all looks like Trump gets more out of this news cycle than either the Texas Senator or Ohio Governor.

Sometimes a thing .. isn’t a thing and this thing is nothing.
