The Obama administration sent Attorney General Loretta Lynch on a whirlwind tour of the top Sunday news programs to push for restrictions on the second amendment and talk about the FBI’s progress on the Orlando terrorism investigation.
Lynch discussed the ‘no fly – no buy’ proposal that would allow the FBI to stop someone from buying a gun simply by placing them on the controversial no-fly list. The No-Fly list requires no due process in order for a citizen to end up on it. Sen. Kennedy found out he was on the list and spent six months trying to get his name removed.
The Orlando shooter was not on the no-fly list and even under Lynch’s new proposed guidelines would have been able to purchase a gun.
Ms. Lynch also talked about the current state of the terrorism investigation into the Orlando attack. The Attorney General said that they would be releasing edited transcripts of calls made by the terrorist.
“What we’re not going to do is further proclaim this man’s pledges of allegiance to terrorist groups, and further his propaganda,” Lynch said. “We are not going to hear him make his assertions of allegiance [to the Islamic State].”
It would seem the Obama administration is spinning the transcripts to move this tragedy away from having been a terrorist attack and more towards just a crazed shooter with a gun shooting gay people.
In truth, this is radical islam. Radical islam demands violent acts against Americans, non-muslims, christians, gays… pick a group. Radical islam is about hate and intolerance, but the Obama administration can’t focus on that lest they risk losing the whole anti-gun narrative.
