Trump Apologizes for rhetoric: ‘Too Much is at Stake’ [video]

GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump eased fears about past remarks in a speech in Charlotte, NC on Thursday.

Trump told the crowd that “sometimes, in the heat of debate and speaking on a multitude of issues, you don’t choose the right words, or you say the wrong thing. I have done that, and I regret it, particularly where it may have caused personal pain.”

The speech was intended to differentiate Trump from democrat antagonist Hillary Clinton. “I will never lie to you, I will never tell you something I do not believe, I will never put anybody’s interests above yours, and I will never ever stop fighting for you,” he said. Trump also relayed that Hillary “is one of the greatest liars of all time.”

Trump alluded to the stark reality of allowing Hillary Clinton to pick at least one, if not four, Supreme Court Justices by saying, “Too much is at stake for us to be consumed with these issues. But one thing I can promise you this: I will always tell you the truth.”

And near the conclusion of his speech Trump made the contrast between himself and Hillary clear saying, “While sometimes I can be too honest, Hillary Clinton is the exact opposite. She never tells the truth.”
