FBI Director James Comey reopened the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s illegal handling of classified information on Friday as new evidence was found – but the story is a bit more nuanced than that.
There had been stories coming from the fringes of the FBI that agents felt Comey had unethically bent to political pressure from President Obama’s lap dog, U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch after her clandestine meeting with former president and Hillary spouse Bill Clinton.
“Some people, including department heads, stopped talking to Jim, and even ignored his greetings when they passed him in the hall,’ said the source. ‘They felt that he betrayed them and brought disgrace on the bureau by letting Hillary off with a slap on the wrist.”
Now, sources close to Comey indicate that the large number of agent resignations was taking a toll on him:
He told his wife that he was depressed by the stack of resignation letters piling up on his desk from disaffected agents. The letters reminded him every day that morale in the FBI had hit rock bottom.
It would appear that James Comey has retaken the job of FBI director and will now be the leader the law enforcement organization needs. Having errantly ventured into the political territory of the Democrat, career-ending, house of cards – Comey has now come home.
Talking heads and Clinton machinists have inferred that the Weiner emails are all duplicates and of no import, but Comey’s agents may use this opening to reinvestigate the entire case now that the Director has informed Congress that the case is ongoing and active.
The FBI has 250,000+ emails to comb through, determine relevance and have numerous intelligence agencies determine classification upon, so the department is unlikely to indict Hillary Clinton before the election.
