A Democratic representative on New York City’s Board of Elections was caught on a secret video slamming “all kinds of fraud” — especially at the polls being enabled by the City’s ID program.
Commissioner Alan Schulkin, the Democratic representative from Manhattan on the board was caught on hidden camera complaining that Mayor de Blasio’s municipal ID card system had made voter and other fraud easier to perpetrate.
“They didn’t vet people to see who they really are. Anybody can go in there and say, ‘I am Joe Smith, I want an ID card,’ ” Schulkin said on the undercover video recorded by a reporter for conservative nonprofit Project Veritas.
The recording was made at the United Federation of Teacher’s Holiday party last December by a reporter identifying herself as a political consultant.
“It’s absurd. There is a lot of fraud. Not just voter fraud, all kinds of fraud” Schulkin said, “This is why I get more conservative as I get older.”
The reporter then asks Alan, “You think they should have voter ID in New York?”
“They bus people around to vote . . . They put them in a bus and go poll site to poll site.”, Alan said . “You know, I don’t think it’s too much to ask somebody to show some kind of an ID . . . You go into a building, you have to show them your ID.”
