Not sure what it is or might be, but the National Hurricane Center either has a sense of humor or a bit of a glitch in their interactive map tool.
As we were downloading data from the NHC for our hurricane Matthew coverage, we were pulling the 11pm information from their interactive map and saw this:
Sooo, either NHC servers experienced a hiccup or some sort of inter-dimensional shift sci-fi thing happened during hurricane Matthew.
Note: Yes, we realize that the cause is an anomaly in NHCs code where the loop around track of Matthew creates a gap in the cone – still funny, or cool, or weird. Then again.. if it’s really an inter-dimensional anomaly .. we’re all doomed.
