Portland police pushed protesters out of city hall when an unruly protest ensued after the city council approved a police contract that included pay increases to help the city recruit badly needed additional police officers.
By the end of the month, the 880-member Portland Police Bureau will have nearly 90 vacancies due to retirements and another 385 officers are projected to retire in the next five years.
The mob tried to push back against police officers and were throwing objects at the police which necessitated force to remove mob as it became more unruly.
The protesters became even more physical by trying to fight against the police to hold the doors open which resulted in officers in riot gear appearing and using pepper spray to disperse the group.
The mob was made up of members from Black Lives Matter and Portland Don’t Shoot.
