General James ‘Mad Dog’ to Speak at Tuesday Night Trump Rally

Trump nominee for Secretary of Defense retired Gen. James “Mad Dog” Mattis will speak at Tuesday night’s USA Thank You rally in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

While the rally is looking to start late due to weather delays, the rally is expected to open with President-elect Trump introducing Gen. Mattis before the nominee gives a speech.

Mattis is facing opposition from Democrats who seek to stop any and all of Trump’s nominations by any means necessary. Democrats had hoped to prohibit Mattis from taking the position due to his having left the military too recently to be eligible for the position, but Republicans have since introduced language into a continuing resolution spending bill that would give the general a waiver.
