The judge ruled that Michigan’s statutory two business day waiting period could jeopardize the possibility of the recount concluding by the safe-harbor day on December 13th which could prevent Michigan’s electors from being able to vote on the 19th.
“Plaintiffs here have shown a credible threat that the recount, if delayed, would not be completed by the ‘safe harbor’ day,” Judge Goldsmith wrote in his ruling Monday morning.
The recount is being conducted at the request of failed Presidential candidate Jill Stein and her Green Party after they collected almost $7 million from donors hoping to reverse the election results and put Hillary in the White House.
Stein’s strategy is falling apart. The recount in Wisconsin is actually finding more votes for Trump than Hillary and the recount in Pennsylvania has little chance of even getting started.
