Donald Trump will nominate school choice advocate Betsy DeVos for Secretary of Education and in a USA Thank You Rally on Friday, DeVos explained what she plans to do about common core.
Notice that DeVos does not call for the end of common core, but the federalized version of the sometimes confusing curriculum.
The approach she announced is constitutional one in which the Department of Education would return the responsibility of choosing curriculum to the states instead of mandating it from D.C.
Some states will likely continue to use common core while others will move away from the controversial approach.
