U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos addresses the Department’s staff in remarks that focus on their work and mission.
Her speech was one hoping to mend the divisiveness seeded by Senate democrats at the behest of the public education lobby.
“I’m ready to work with you. Let’s get started,” Devos remarked. “Let’s set an example by being sincere and honest, passionate but civil while never losing sight of our shared mission.”
DeVos spoke of unity, innovation and open-mindedness as she hopes to bring transformation to a department struggling to raise America’s students to the top in world rankings.
