Elon Musk’s SpaceX successfully launched and landed its Falcon 9 rocket on Sunday.
The CRS-10 mission is SpaceX’s first launch from historic LC-39A at Kennedy Space Center. Following stage separation, the first stage of Falcon 9 landed at SpaceX’s Landing Zone 1 (LZ-1) at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida.
CRS-10’s mission is to deliver a Dragon capsule containing supplies and research material to the International Space Station and the launch comes just one day after being canceled on Saturday for a second-stage thrust vectoring issue.
The second stage continued into orbit, the Dragon capsule separated and successfully deployed the solar panels required to power the capsule for the two-day trip to the space station.
Check out SpaceX’s awesome webcast of the mission including onboard footage of the launch, landing and separation of the dragon capsule.
