Report: ‘Smoking Gun’ May Prove Obama Administration Spied on Trump

Congressional investigators expect a “smoking gun” to establish that the Obama administration spied on the Trump transition team and possibly the president-elect himself.

Proof is expected to be produced to the House Intelligence Committee this week according to a source.

The intelligence is said to leave no doubt the Obama administration, in its closing days, was using the cover of legitimate surveillance on foreign targets to spy on President-elect Trump, according to sources.

The key to that conclusion is the unmasking of selected U.S. persons whose names appeared in the intelligence, the sources said, adding that the paper trail leaves no other plausible purpose for the unmasking other than to damage the incoming Trump administration.

Ugh, another unnamed source….

This could turn out to be exactly what President Trump alluded to in his tweets or it could be a giant nothing-burger….

Anonymous sources often turn out to be false which is why reporters are challenged to confirm or disprove an initial source. In this case.. we get the background and have to wait for the proof.

If you need some background on this whole story .. here’s a good summary:
