Winter Storm Stella to Hit Northeast Early This Week

Meteorologists have warned the Northeastern United States that they could see high snow totals and dangerous winds early this week as winter storm Stella hits the area.

The National Weather Service issued a blizzard watch for New York City and Boston and a winter storm watch that includes upstate New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New England.

The New York City metro area blizzard watch includes Long Island, the Connecticut coast, Southern Westchester, Southern Fairfield, Southern New Haven, Middlesex, and New London counties.

Meteorologists say that 12 to 18 inches of snow could fall beginning late Monday night into Tuesday and winds could gust upwards of 50 MPH.

Road conditions could get dangerous with whiteout conditions limiting visibility and heavy snowfall accumulating on roadways.
