In a podcast on his website Monday night, Bill O’Reilly made his first public statements since losing his Fox News show saying that the loss of his show saddens him but promised that his fans have not seen the last of him.
O’Reilly agreed to leave Fox News after allegations of sexual harassment were made against the top cable news host and a New York Times hit piece revealed settlements to previous accusers.
Bill vowed that his loyal fans would see him on television again and that when the truth about the allegations came out, people “would be shaken.”
“I was very surprised how it all turned out,” O’Reilly said. “I can’t say a lot because there’s much stuff going on right now. But I can tell you that I’m very confident the truth will come out, and when it does, I don’t know if you’re going to be surprised, but I think you’re going to be shaken, as I am. There’s a lot of stuff involved here.”
None of the accusers has chosen to see their allegations through in court and O’Reilly has consistently maintained that their claims were false.
Open questions about O’Relly-gate remain and could be at the center of “the truth” he intends to reveal.
Just how did the New York Times get information on the settlements made to past accusers including specific amounts? That information was held closely at the highest levels of the company. It would take someone high on the food chain to gain access to and provide to the New York times such confidential information.
Why did the Murdoch boys push the number one rated cable news host off the network without allowing him to defend himself against the allegations? Some posit that the Murdoch’s used the allegation as a convenient tool to overhaul the network more to the left. What if instead of convenience, it was by design?
Only time will tell but if O’Reilly’s hints are to be taken at face value, the truth may just shake everyone.
