Gonzaga and North Carolina to Meet for NCAA Basketball Title

After three grueling weeks, the NCAA men’s basketball tournament has produced the two teams who will duel for the title.

Saturday’s semifinal contests were both close affairs in which the Gonzaga Bulldogs and North Carolina Tar Heels struggled to put away their pesky upstart foes.

Gonzaga took the early game against the surprising South Carolina Gamecocks 77-73 after nearly blowing a 14-point lead. It will be the Bulldogs’ first ever shot at the title.

They will face perennial contenders and winners of multiple champions in the UNC Tar Heels who eked out a 77-76 nail-biter against the surprising Oregon Ducks.

The two surviving number one seeds will tip it off at 9:20 ET on Monday night at University of Phoenix Stadium for all the marbles.
