Democrats terrified health care plan might pass

Democrats, out of fear, issue false statements in an attempt to delay a vote on the Republican health care plan

House democrats unleashed a salvo of attacks against the Republican plan to hold a vote Thursday on the American Health Care Act.  They are scared to death that it just might pass.

Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Ca) accused Republicans of rushing to pass the AHCA without first getting a score from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) and falsely claimed that the plan would abandon those with pre-existing conditions.

“Forcing a vote without a CBO score shows that Republicans are terrified of the public learning the full consequences of their plan to push Americans with pre-existing conditions into the cold,” Pelosi said in a statement.

With Obamacare’s high deductibles, most patients with pre-existing conditions must pay out-of-pocket today if they can get access to care at all. The GOP plan has an $8 billion account specifically to aid states in covering those with pre-existing ailments. Also, the CBO’s scoring of Obamacare was wrong beyond belief. Why should Republican lawmakers delay any further just to get another useless ruling from them?

Continuing the attack, Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md) said, “The American people will surely hold Republicans accountable for their votes tomorrow on whether to advance this deeply flawed TrumpCare bill or to send a message, once and for all, that making Americans pay more for less, discriminating against those with pre-existing conditions, and kicking millions off their coverage will not happen on their watch.”

The weeks-long assault isn’t to protect Americans. The attacks are a protection mechanism similar to the “resist” movement intended to paralyze the Republican-run government. What better way to destroy GOP candidates in 2018 than to show how little they have accomplished while holding both houses and the presidency?

Imagine the bloodbath Democrats would experience in the mid-terms if the AHCA is passed, premiums go down, deductibles drop and there is no loss of pre-existing conditions? Democrats would lose faith with all but their most loyal, pink hat wearing safe space brigade.

Health care insurers are fleeing the exchanges and soon there will be entire states with no access to coverage. The democrats are pushing for nothing to be done when clearly something must be done.

Pelosi is far from altruistic so her attempts to halt the Republican health plan must have an ulterior motive. She can’t have the GOP pass anything, especially if it demonstrates how bad Obamacare really is.
