The Lefts’ Love Affair With Terrorists

This past week Puerto Rico nationalist Oscar Lopez Rivera was freed from house arrest after serving 35 years in prison. He was considered a top leader of the Armed Forces of National Liberation, or FALN, an ultranationalist Puerto Rican group that claimed responsibility for more than 100 bombings at government buildings, department stores, banks and restaurants in New York, Chicago, Washington and Puerto Rico during the 1970s and early 1980s. The militant group’s attacks killed six people and wounded at least 130 others.

Yet after all this, people on the Left are just gushing with love for this dirt bag. New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito tweeted, “Today. After 35 years. Our  beloved Oscar. FREE!” Of course far Left wacky mayor de Blasio is on the same page with the speaker. The mayor intends to join Rivera for next month’s National Puerto Rican Day Parade down Fifth Avenue to hail him as a “National Freedom Hero.”

But that’s not sitting well with many other groups. Detectives’ Endowment Association President Michael Palladino said Mark-Viverito is celebrating “a terrorist.”

“On behalf of the cops he injured and civilians he killed, I condemn the speaker for her words and actions,” he said. “Any politician who embraces evil and terror has no business holding office in this country.”

Also the NYPD Hispanic Society and the Rafael Ramos Foundation have pulled out of the June 11 Fifth Avenue march after it was announced that former FALN kingpin Oscar Lòpez Rivera will be honored as a “National Freedom Hero” at the event.

Food giant Goya is pulling out as well. The New Jersey-based Goya Foods had sponsored the parade every year for its 60-year existence, including the first parade in 1958. Parade organizers say they’re disappointed in the decision, which they say will jeopardize the 100 college scholarships the parade provides to students.

I just don’t get these Liberal-Progressives, why do they insist on worshiping people who want to do harm to this country. They insist on having open boarders, setting up sanctuary cities to protect illegal’s who commit crimes; they have sympathy for cop killers, even protesting to set them free from prison. They have even had a convicted cop killer give commencement speeches at colleges, what the hell is wrong with these people.

Anything that is bad for America, the Liberals seem to embrace, I don’t get it. America cannot continue down this road.
