Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers Gives Pricey New Toys to His Offensive Line

NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers made sure to reward the guys who are tasked with keeping him in one piece.

The Green Bay Packers superstar gave his offensive linemen a heck of a nice Christmas present and Santa finally delivered this week.

Rodgers’ gift of gratitude was a custom green and gold Polaris ATVs with each lineman’s number and initials on the side for each of the five starters.

It cost a pretty penny too. The vehicles go for between $16,000-$20,000 making the quarterback’s outlay at around a hundred grand.

But it’s a small price to pay for the guys that you need to keep happy and healthy in order to make it through a long season of pro football.

In football, there’s a tradition that involves quarterbacks taking care of the players who protect them during games.

It seems Green Bay Packers signal-caller Aaron Rodgers understands and appreciates that custom.

As explained by Rob Demovsky of ESPN, Rodgers recently gave his Green Bay offensive linemen Polaris General ATVs the 33-year-old purchased as Christmas gifts.

Per Demovsky, a Polaris General goes for roughly $20,000, meaning Rodgers’ teammates should have thousands of additional reasons to want to keep him healthy and upright during games.

Despite a slow start including a four-game skid, Rodgers righted the ship and led the Packers all the way to the NFC Championship.  The defense finally collapsed and the Pack was whacked 44-21 by the Atlanta Falcons. The lack of a better record forced Green Bay to play on the road for the title game.

Despite the disappointing end to the season, Rodgers threw for 4,428 yards, 40 touchdowns and only 7 interceptions. He was sacked 35 times – not great but the Packers lacked a consistent running game and Rodgers was throwing on almost every down.

The Packers are hoping for big things this year.

A healthy Jordy Nelson would be the best thing as Rodgers’ favorite receiver was coming back off a knee injury in 2016 and got injured again in the playoffs. Green Bay also added tight end Martellus Bennett who should solve the team’s problem at that position.

However, there still isn’t much in the way of a running game. The Packers did draft a couple of running backs later in the draft but chances are that Rodgers will be slinging the ball every afternoon again.

The key will be to somehow gain the home field advantage so if the Pack goes deep into the playoffs, the games will be in the friendly confines of Lambeau Field, the freezing temperatures in January is a heck of an edge.

That makes it all the more important to keep those big dudes happy.
