President Donald Trump’s schedule has gotten significantly lighter this week and Friday is no exception. At release, the schedule held only two public events, but I’ll update it during the day as the press office informs us of his meetings and events.
The president started his public schedule by meeting with NSA H.R. McMaster and NEC Director Gary Cohn.
The president attended a Military Spouse Day reception hosted by First Lady Melania Trump Friday afternoon. Many of the mothers gasped and cheered when the President and First Lady were announced. President Trump delivered brief remarks to an excited group of military mothers and spouses before introducing Melania at the Mother’s Day weekend event. The president got a big round of applause when he mentioned proposed increases in defense spending. Trump said “We were in the depleted side to put it mildly. We won’t be anymore. ” He promised the mothers and spouses that his administration will take care of members of all branches of the military. Many of the mothers had their cameras out and cheered throughout the talk.
President Trump then had a meeting in the afternoon with HHS Secretary John Kelly.
