Democrats Begin to Turn on Obama as Russian Narrative Disintegrates

Now that the hysteria over the great Trump-Russia witch hunt is slowly beginning to subside, the Democrats are looking for another scapegoat for Hillary’s stunning election loss.

The idea that a sustained campaign of McCarthyite innuendo based on anonymous leaks was a substitute to policy was always a gamble for Democrats and it is now looking like they are about to pay dearly for their incredibly stupid bet.

Last week the Democrats had a cruel encounter with reality when two more of their special election “referendums” on President Trump resulted in a pair of losses. The most devastating was the defeat of Nancy Pelosi’s own personal puppet in Georgia’s 6^th Congressional district. Not a good omen for 2018 if you are a Democrat.

Compounding the Dems’ woes is that they have now lost control of the Trump-Russia narrative and their endless fishing expedition just sucked in former Attorney General Loretta Lynch.

In addition, the rank and file Dems are beginning to express their discontent with party leaders over the Russia obsession that is distracting attention from real kitchen table issues of the type that next year’s midterms will be decided on.

So now, in an amazing turn of events, the Democratic Party inquisitors have suddenly turned their fire on former President Barack Obama for not doing enough to prevent Trump-Putin from stealing the election from poor Hillary.

You know that the worm has turned when none other than Adam Schiff went on Sunday morning television to blast Obama for not doing enough to stop the “Russian” influence into the election.

According to Politico “Schiff criticizes Obama’s handling of Russia”:

The top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee criticized Barack Obama for the president’s response to intelligence reports that the Russian president was working to elect Donald Trump.

Rep. Adam Schiff, speaking on CNN, was asked about a June 23 article in The Washington Post that said Obama was told in August 2016 that Russian President Vladimir Putin was working to elect the Republican nominee.

“The [Obama] administration needed to call out Russia earlier, and needed to act to deter and punish Russia earlier, and I think that was a very serious mistake,” Schiff told Dana Bash on “State of the Union.” “The Obama administration should have done more when it became clear that not only was Russia intervening, but it was being directed at the highest levels of the Kremlin.”

While the Washington Post’s story that Schiff refers to probably has around a 90:10 bullshit to reality ratio, it is significant because for once the Dems are pointing fingers at dear leader for his “failure” to stop the damned Russkies in putting Trump into office.

Leading Democrats will now be looking for a climb-down before next year’s midterms as they concentrate on the only thing that really matters to them – self-preservation.
