Report: Govt surveilling journalists to find leaks

John Crudele of the NY Post authored an article Wednesday alleging that the government is surveilling journalists in order to find the person or persons responsible for leaking classified information to the press.

a Washington source of mine tells me it’s happening again. The Justice Department has gotten a warrant from the US Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court — also known as the FISA court — to conduct electronic surveillance on a group of journalists who’ve been the recipient of leaked information, the source said.

Crudele continues to write that his “source”, anonymous of course, says that journalists are not the target of the FISA warrants. Instead, the justice department just wants the leakers. The irony is that John’s “source” is a possible target for the DOJ hunt.

But the Post’s story agrees with a refuted OANN article stating that three leakers have already been or soon will be fired.

The possibly high-ranking leaker was getting some of his information from people inside the White House who were holdovers from the Obama administration, the source said.

Those White House leakers — said to be three people — have either already been fired or will soon be, the source claims.

One America News Network’s article – citing an unidentified source – reported that the information for three people working in the White House was sent to the Office of Government Ethics, allegedly for leaking classified information and that they would be fired by Trump upon his return from an international trip. Our source in the OGE said the story was patently false.

It could be that the people didn’t go through OGE on the way to the exit, that both the NY Post source and OANN’s source are being fed information or that our source is out of the loop.

Of course, it could also be a tactic to scare other leakers into making mistakes, making deals with the DOJ, or exiting the White House of their own volition. Of course, both of their sources could also have been the same person, with the same story – real or not.

Any number of possibilities exist, but one way or another, it appears the justice department is huntin’ varmint and the White House is full up.
