Three Things to Watch in Sports on Friday

1: Will the Golden State Warriors win the NBA Championship and complete a historic undefeated postseason?

The high-scoring Warriors have gone 15-0 in the playoffs and have LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers on the ropes after a 118-113 victory on Wednesday.

The Cavs are down 0-3 and the chances of them winning four games in a row to repeat as champions are practically zero. They could however salvage some respect by denying their opponent to make history.

The game starts at 9 PM ET

2: Will the New York Giants bow to Odell Beckham Jr.’s demands for a new contract?

The flamboyant superstar receiver is looking to get paid and is a no-show during the team’s pre-training camp OTA drills.

While it’s indisputable that Beckham is a stud whose acrobatic catches are second to none, his career has been plagued by temperament and judgement issues.

He was a virtual no-show during the Giants playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers in January and came under fire for having chosen to party with pop star Ricky Martin during the week before the game.

Beckham may play keep away for a while but it’s highly unlikely that the Giants will let it go on until the point where it becomes a distraction.

3: The Major League Baseball series to watch this weekend matches the defending World Series Champion Chicago Cubs against the upstart Colorado Rockies.

The Cubbies started slow but have put things together to climb back into contention in the NL Central.

The Rockies have been the surprise of the young season and currently lead the NL West thanks to a stunning turnaround in the bullpen led by former Kansas City Royals star closer Greg Holland who after blowing out his elbow has returned to dominance. Holland leads the league with 21 saves.

The series will take place within the cloistered confines of legendary Wrigley Field so depending on how the wind is blowing, it could be a pitching duel or a home run derby.
