New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has consistently put himself in league with the radical left and now he may be looking beyond the Big Apple to the future.
De Blasio made a surprise trip across the pond where he is set to join the violent hooligans who are in Hamburg, Germany to protest the latest meeting of the G20 and in particular, to protest against President Donald Trump.
So intent to make an anti-Trump statement in front of foreigners, the mayor chose to bypass a NYPD ceremony to stick it to the president – only days after the execution-style murder of a female police officer.
The move appears to have been made with the 2020 Democratic Party nomination in mind, something that de Blasio appears to covet.
As reported by The New York Post “De Blasio races to Germany to protest G20 summit”:
Mayor de Blasio on Thursday skipped an NYPD swearing-in ceremony made somber by this week’s assassination of a cop — then hours later revealed he was busy preparing to jet off on a surprise trip to join leftist protesters at the G-20 summit in Germany.
Hizzoner’s overseas jaunt was kept under wraps until just 90 minutes before he took off from Newark Airport. A last-minute announcement said he “will attend several events surrounding the G-20 Summit, including Saturday’s Hamburg Zeigt Haltung rally.”
De Blasio will be the keynote speaker, organizers of the demonstration — Hamburg Shows Attitude — tweeted.
Police in Hamburg already have plenty of problems on their hands as leftists and anarchists are rioting prior to Saturday’s event.
On Thursday, the trouble started with the “Welcome to Hell” demonstration during which the thugs quickly turned to violence.
According to the Guardian, the leftist mobs plan to “kettle” Trump and other leaders. How this is going to turn out is probably not going to be good.
As for de Blasio, I suspect that Wisconsin congressional candidate Paul Nehlen speaks for a lot of folks:
