Je suis Charlie? French magazine Charlie Hebdo took a cheap shot at the victims of Hurricane Harvey with a cover that portrays those who were hit with the horrific storm as drowning Nazis.
It was the latest in a series of tasteless and pointlessly offensive covers which some have cheered for their sticking it to Muslims and Mohammed but don’t see that the editors also regularly feature blasphemous cartoons of Jesus Christ and the Pope.
Now they are joining with their natural allies on the American left by continuing to push the falsehood that supporters of President Donald Trump are white supremacists and Nazis which is one thing, but trashing those who just had their lives turned upside down by a horrendous natural disaster is quite another.
Via the New York Post “Charlie Hebdo cover casts Harvey victims as neo-Nazis”:
The new issue of inflammatory French magazine Charlie Hebdo appears to mock the death and utter devastation wrought by Tropical Storm Harvey.
“God Exists! He Drowned All the Neo-Nazis of Texas,” the weekly mag’s cover screams.
An illustration of half-submerged swastika flags and arms giving the Nazi salute accompanies the headline.
Critics were quick to blast the mag for poking fun at the mega-disaster, which claimed at least 37 lives and displaced tens of thousands of people.
The magazine received international sympathy after its Paris offices were attacked by a radical Islamic hit team to avenge images of Mohammed back in January 2015, 12 were killed and “Je suis Charlie” became a rallying cry.
Most who defended Charlie Hebdo at the time failed to understand that this was the same publication that once featured a cover of Jesus Christ engaging in an act of anal sex. They then found out the hard way that when you make a living out of baiting religious fanatics – especially Muslims – don’t be surprised if one day they turn up on your doorstep.
It’s ironic that the Frenchies would choose to portray the descendants of their American liberators as Nazis because were it not for the USA, the cheese-eating surrender monkeys would be a German colony today.
