Marco Rubio Joins McCain to Oppose Trump Immigration Policy

You had to know that it was only a matter of time after Arizona Senator John McCain announced that he would be pushing for immigration reform when he makes his triumphant return to Washington next month.

McCain is as close to a shadow president as there has ever been and now that he has brain cancer, an already love-struck media is treating him as though he can walk on water and heal lepers.

After McCain saved Obamacare and saddled struggling Americans with crushing premium increases, all of the Never Trumpers from the GOP primaries have begun to slither out from under the rocks that they had been hiding under to take on the POTUS.

Now, lo and behold, there has been a Marco Rubio sighting.

The dashing young Cuban who had once been anointed as the savior of the Republican party has been largely missing after getting humiliated by then candidate Trump who beat him like a dog in his home state of Florida. But now the coast is clear for all of the cowards to take their shots as the zombies are rising from the grave to undermine that POTUS and Rubio is one of them.

The Miami motor-mouth is drawing a line in the sand that the immigration bill backed by President Trump will die in the Senate just like the repeal of Obamacare did.

According to the Hill “Rubio: Trump-backed immigration bill won’t pass Senate”:

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) is predicting that a White House-backed bill aimed at curbing legal immigration won’t have enough support to pass the Senate.

“That bill’s not going to pass. … I think the White House knows that you don’t have 60 votes for that in the Senate,” Rubio told a Florida CBS station.

The bill, which President Trump rolled out last week with GOP Sens. David Perdue (Ga.) and Tom Cotton (Ark.), would aim to move legal immigration to a “merit-based” system and cut the number of green cards given out every year.

Trump made cracking down on immigration a key promise of his presidential campaign. But the legislation faces a steep uphill climb in the Senate, where it will need 60 votes, and is already getting pushback from several GOP senators and Democrats.

Rubio pointed to the fight over green cards as a “big difference of opinion” that he has with the White House-supported legislation, but noted he backs changes to the legal immigration system.

“Where I probably have a big difference of opinion with this bill is that it sets an arbitrary cap on the number of people that are able to come through with a green card. I don’t think that should be an arbitrary cap, that number should be driven by demand,” he told the Florida CBS station.

Rubio worked on the “Gang of Eight” immigration bill, which would have reformed both legal and illegal immigration.

Immigration reform (translation: amnesty for illegal aliens) has long been near and dear to Rubio’s heart even though he had to flip-flop on the issue to become more palatable to the GOP establishment.

The merit-based immigration system is a common-sense measure that would cut down on the amount of social service sucking, low-skill chiselers who would have to assimilate. God forbid that such restrictions be placed on prospective Democrat voters.

McCain is more worried about the border in Ukraine than our own and Rubio is an ambitious suckler who has whored himself out to Silicon Valley to protect their H1-B visas that allow them to hire foreigners at the expense of American jobs.

The Gang of Eight rides again!
