Major League Baseball postseason games have highlighted the strengths and weaknesses of baseball’s top teams and Sunday’s schedule sets up two of them to go home.
The Cleveland Indians have bested the New York Yankees in the best of five MLB ALDS series two games to zero thanks in part to an errant base-on-balls call that led to a 4-run inning by the tribe. Another loss by the Yankees could have them watching a World Series without them in it.
The Houston Astros have outright dominated the Boston Red Sox in the first two games of their 5-game American League Division Series winning both by six runs. Sunday’s game could send the BoSox packing.
Pitching wins the postseason and in game three the Astros will put right-hander Brad Peacock (3.0 ERA) against Red Sox rightie Doug Fister (4.88 ERA). Indians’ Carlos Carrasco (3.29 ERA) will start against Masahiro Tanaka (4.74 ERA) of the Yankees.
On Sunday, the Astros and Indians take on the teams they’ve so far dominated while the Red Sox and Yankees try to keep their MLB playoff hopes alive. Here’s where to watch:
