The Department of Justice Wednesday night released a former FBI informant from the non-disclosure agreement that had prevented him from testifying before Congress about the Uranium One sale.
“As of tonight, the Department of Justice has authorized the informant to disclose to the Chairmen and Ranking Members of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, as well as one member of each of their staffs, any information or documents he has concerning alleged corruption or bribery involving transactions in the uranium market, including but not limited to anything related to Vadim Mikerin, Rosatom, Tenex, Uranium One, or the Clinton Foundation,” Justice Department spokeswoman Sarah Flores said.
The informant, his identity still protected, was blocked from testifying in 2016. Obama Attorney General Loretta Lynch had gone so far as to threaten legal action against him to prevent him from releasing information to Congress or the media.
“He can tell what all the Russians were talking about during the time that all these bribery payments were made,” the informant’s lawyer Victoria Toensing said Monday on “Lou Dobbs Tonight.”
Two Congressional committees have called for investigations into the Uranium One sale and the involvement of Hillary Clinton and her foundation.
The Clinton Foundation received $145 million in donations laundered through foreign countries just prior to the sale of 20% of the United States uranium reserves to Russia.
Clinton calls the investigations “bologna” that has “been debunked.” The informant’s testimony will surely test her assertion.
