The White House released a statement and infographic that highlight the impact that chain migration has on the country.
“Under our current Chain Migration system, newcomers are admitted to the United States based on family ties and distant relations, as opposed to a merit-based system that selects newcomers based on economic and national security criteria,” the White House said in a statement. “The large influx of predominantly low-skilled migrants has had substantial fiscal and national security consequences.”
The statement was accompanied by a graphic that the White House included hoping to provide “some numerical context.”
