It’s National Margarita Day: Deals on Ritas and awesome recipes

Frozen or on-the-rocks? Salt or no salt? No matter how you like your Margarita, restaurants are offering the lime & tequila favorite at a discount.

Chili’s is offering $5 Chambord Flirt, the restaurant’s newest margarita. Best of all, the deal goes until the end of the month.

If you have a Bahama Breeze tropical restaurant in your area, they are offering their classic Margarita for just $2.22 and offering the first 100 guests a free bottle of margarita-inspired nail polish colors. Today also kicks off the restaurant’s Viva La ‘Rita week.

Buffalo Wild Wings is putting it’s house margarita on sale for just $5 along with $4 street tacos and $3 chips and salsa.

Margaritaville’s regular margaritas will be $3.99  today.

Chuy’s Mexican Restaurant has $1 floaters and $1 off seasonal Frozen Blackberry and Frozen Blood Orange Margaritas.

On the Border is offering a $2 house margarita in certain areas. Call ahead to make sure your region is included.

Our Favorite Margarita Recipes

Not looking to go out today to celebrate? Well, here are some of our staff favorite margarita recipes if you choose to shake your own (for frozen version, pour mix with ice into blender and blend):

Traditional:

  • 1 1/2 oz. high-quality tequila
  • 1 oz. triple sec
  • juice from one lime
  1. Tequila, triple sec and lime juice in a shaker, fill shaker halfway with ice
  2. shake until chilled
  3. Strain into a glass with fresh ice

Popular alternative:

  • 1 1/2 oz. high-quality tequila
  • 1 oz. Cointreau
  • juice from one lime
