Texas Senator Ted Cruz tweeted out a brand new political ad that his Senatorial campaign released Tuesday that features a parody of the country song “If you’re gonna’ play in Texas.”
The campaign changed the well-known lyrics from “If you’re gonna’ play in Texas, you gotta’ have a fiddle in the band” to “If you’re gonna’ run in Texas, you can’t be a liberal man.”

Cruz then thanked Texas Republican voters who, despite a massive Democrat party turn out effort, showed up in greater numbers than members of the opposition party.
If you’re gonna’ run in Texas, you can’t be a liberal man
Cuz’ liberal is not the spirit of a Lone Star man
Ya’ gotta’ be tough as Texas
and honest about your plans
If you’re gonna’ run in Texas, you can’t be a liberal man
I remember reading stories
Liberal Robert wanted to fit in
So he changed his name to Beto
and hid it with a grin
Beto wants those open borders
and wants to take our guns
not a chance he’ll get a vote
from millions of Texans
If you’re gonna’ run in Texas, you can’t be a liberal man
