Fox news is reporting that Democrats are demanding more than a million documents on the Trump administrations recent Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Democrats are requesting documents from Kavanaughs time at the White House during the Bush administration.
Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-CA.) said Wednesday that she expects at least 1 million pages of documents from Kavanaugh’s tenure in the White House and as a political operative.
“Kavanaugh has an extensive record. We expect at least 1 million pages of documents from his tenure in the White House and as a political operative,” said
A former clerk to Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, Justin Walker shared his insight on the Democrats demands to see so many pages of documents on Kavanaugh, “we’ve never seen a number anyone close to this, and what everyone agrees on is that there are going to be more documents for Brett Kavanaugh than have ever been produced in history for a judicial nominee,” said Walker.
“So I think people in D.C. Chuck Schumer, Sen. Feinstein, on the one hand, Sen. Grassley and McConnell on the other, they are going to argue whether it should be a million documents or there should be 2 million documents that is the kind of thing politicians love to fight about. But at the end of the day, We know there are going to be more documents produced than have ever been produced and we know that whats already public is Judge Kavanaugh’s 12 year record, 300 opinions on the second most important court in the country and opinion after opinion document after document show his independence and a brilliant legal mind at work,” said Walker.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has plans to confirm Kavanaugh by October 1, so the judge can be seated on the nation’s highest court when its annual term begins on the first Monday of that month.
