“What was he supposed to do, take a gun out and shoot Putin,” said Fox News host Jeanine Pirro on Tuesday defending President Donald Trump‘s performance in a Monday press conference with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Helsinki Finland.
During an appearance on “Fox & Friends,” Pirro called on everybody to snap out of it arguing that Trump is doing what he’s supposed to be doing and that is protecting us:
“I mean come on, snap out of it everybody, the guy is doing what he’s supposed to be doing and that is protecting us. What was he supposed to do, take a gun out and shoot Putin? Putin said, ‘I didn’t meddle in your election,’ so the president should say ‘hang on, let me execute this guy?'”
Additionally, Pirro further pushed back when she was challenged regarding Trump’s refusal to accept the U.S. intelligence community’s analysis that Russia interfered in the 2016 election. Pirro slammed the intelligence community claiming they said there were weapons of mass destruction which only got us a war.
“The same intelligence community that said there were weapons of mass destruction that got us in a war. The president has conceded that there was meddling. I think what the president did here was he got defensive about his being the president.”
