President Of Judicial Watch Tom Fitton Finds FISA Court At Fault For Purposely Targeting Trump Campaign

by Nick Givas

President of the legal watchdog group Judicial Watch, Tom Fitton, said the FISA court was at fault for purposely targeting President Donald Trump and his 2016 presidential campaign.

Fitton said it was troubling the Clinton campaign helped fund the infamous Steele dossier, which was used as a main piece of evidence to obtain FISA warrants against Trump adviser Carter Page.

“This is a Clinton campaign document that was presented to the court as if it weren’t and then they used reports about the Clinton campaign document and leak operation to further justify asking for a warrant to target the Trump team,” Fitton said on “Fox & Friends” Monday. “Anyone who signed on to this needs to be asked questions about why they signed on to it — what they knew and when. And it, unfortunately, includes the … number two at the Justice Department, Rod Rosenstein.”

Fitton said the Steele dossier tried to omit the fact that the Clinton campaign was heavily involved in its inception and said the warrants went deeper than Carter Page.

“They went out of their way to talk about, to avoid talking about the fact it was the Clinton campaign behind it. There was no good reason not to inform the court that other than to, again, mislead the court into providing a pretext to spy on the Trump team,” he continued. “Look, this is about Carter Page in theory. But, when you look at what’s been released. It was all about getting at the Trump campaign.”

“[Page] wasn’t a spy. He wasn’t an agent of the Russians,” Fitton concluded. “He was a cooperator with the FBI. They didn’t need to spy on him. It was a fraud and hoax designed to target Trump.”
