Report: Hispanic Unemployment Reached Record Low in June

The unemployment rate for Hispanic workers reached a record low for the month of June according to the most recent Bureau of Labor Statistics report released Friday.

In June, the unemployment rate for Hispanic or Latino workers fell to 4.6 percent for the month. This comes in just lower than the previous record of 4.8 percent.  That record was set in October 2006 but has been hit numerous times in recent months by the Trump administration.

Further, with a Hispanic unemployment rate of 4.6 percent, this marks the lowest monthly Hispanic unemployment rate recorded since the Bureau of Labor Statistics began tracking unemployment statistics.

Unemployment rates for minorities have dropped considerably under the Trump presidency. Investors Business Daily reports over the past year, “the unemployment rate has dropped 17% for Hispanics, 14% for African Americans and 11% for Asians.”

Further, Investors Business Daily reports, “the jobless rate for African Americans fell to a record low 6.8% in December from 7.2% the month before. And it was the first time ever that unemployment for African Americans ever fell below 7%.”

Investors Business Daily also notes that “Hispanics, too, have seen unemployment drop to record-low levels.”
