Fox News Channel continues its domination of cable rankings in both total day and prime time for the week of August 13th thru August 19th, racking up 32 straight weeks as cable’s number one network, according to a report from Nielsen Media Research.
The weekly distributed Basic Cable Ranker from Nielsen showed FNC topping MSNBC (#3) and CNN (#6) by 30% and 90% in total day viewership.
For prime time, Fox News beat MSNBC (#2) by 20% and had 119% more viewers than CNN (#7) last week, maintaining that top spot for the 12th consecutive week. FNC’s Hannity remains the most-watched cable news show.
In total day, FNC averaged 1.3 million in total viewers and 255,000 in the 25-54 demographic. Additionally, in primetime, FOX News marked 12 weeks in a row as the top-rated network, with nearly 2.3 million in total viewers and 423,000 in the 25-54 demo.
FNC claimed 17 of the top 30 cable telecasts overall in total viewers, including presentations of Hannity, The Ingraham Angle, Tucker Carlson Tonight, The Five and Special Report with Bret Baier.
Fox News’ incredible results cross over to digital media as well. Last week, the network reported that FoxNews.com managed to beat out the entirety of the CNN landscape for the first time ever.
